Vickers Vimy Open Day

2019 marks the centenary of the first flight from England to Australia by Adelaide brothers, Ross and Keith Smith. The hangar, where their restored Vickers Vimy converted bomber is currently housed, will be open to the public on Sunday 20 October, allowing guests to get up close to the aircraft! Come for a closer look at what flying was like back in 1919.

There will be food trucks, plus an opportunity to talk to members from the Epic Flight Centenary Committee, the South Australian Aviation Museum, the RAAF and other organisations involved in celebrating the centenary.

Due to the capacity of the hangar, visits will be limited to specific time slots. Please register for your preferred time slot and bring your ticket on the day to show staff at the entrance to gain access to the hangar.
